NZL JUDGES APPOINTED TO OLYMPIC GAMES

It is with great pleasure that I formally announce the Judges appointments for the Beijing Olympics and Good Luck Beijing, the FIG Olympic Test Event.

In preparation for the Olympics a test event has been scheduled this month in Beijing and we received an invitation from FIG for Avril and Stephen Kendall to attend this event.  It is the desire of GSNZ and the Sports Development Committees to build a strong judging program with a broad base of qualified and experienced judges. To this end we enquired of FIG if it was possible to fill this Good Luck Beijing appointment with another NZL judge.  We were advised that Karen Bevins would be welcomed to this position.  This is validation of Karen's recognition among the ranks of international judges and the fact that the judging program in New Zealand is of a very high standard.

We look forward to the day that our athletes can share the glory of these prestigious events but for now you three carry our pride on the international stage.  We look forward to seeing you on Television!
