The aim of this forum was to connect coaches and club administrators from across New Zealand in order to share ideas and experiences, develop their coaching and showcase GymSports New Zealand programmes about to be released to the membership. A very full agenda saw participants addressed in the areas of NZ CoachApproach, Teaching Games for Understanding and Marketing for Club Development. Martin Croft from the Rotorua District Council also extended his experience in event management to the group. A progress report on the redevelopment of the Incentive Awards and Foundation Skills showcased some of the exciting new programmes soon to be available to member clubs. Open forum sessions allowed us to explore ideas to further the involvement of adults, the elderly and special needs participants while also providing valuable contacts for professional development in these areas. Practical sessions were an opportunity to share games and activities. Several clubs cited their experiences in working with other sports and recreational activities such as snow sports, wakeboarding, ballet and dance, stunt groups, martial arts, rowing and rugby teams to name but a few. A great opportunity to bring this important community together!
From Friday 9th October to Sunday 11th October 2009, GymSports New Zealand hosted the inaugural Gym for All Forum at the Auckland Regional Gymsports Centre.
